Discovered in the 1920’s we are only recently beginning to appreciate the true therapeutic value of Vitamin E.

Vitamin E is a generic term for a group of related compounds called tocopherols, which occur in four major forms : alpha, beta, delta and gamma-tocopherols.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant that protects cell membranes and other fat-soluble parts of the body from damage. Its use in protecting cholesterol (a fatty substance in the blood) from damage, has promoted its role in heart health.

Vitamin E’s protective action confers other beneficial effects on the body. There is evidence to suggest that Vitamin E improves immune function, particularly in the elderly and protects against air and chemical pollutants.

Thompson’s new Vitamin E family is non-genetically modified and now contains the trace mineral selenium in a natural mixed tocopherol fomula. Selenium has been added to increase Vitamin E’s therapeutic impact and because of New Zealand soils’ poor selenium content.

Thompson’s Natural Vitamin E Group is available in a range of strengths: 100iu, 200iu and 500iu capsules.
